I love my Ginghers. You do need to keep everyone away from them or you will find them in the garage being used as wire cutters. Even then you can send them back to the company and they will be returned to you as good as new, sometimes free but always at a nominal cost. I found a scissor in the church nursery that had been used to cut crayons and paper. They were a mess! I sent them to Gingher and when they came home (to me, not the church), it was hard to believe it was the same cutting instrument. By the way, I bought the church some utility scissors from Lowe's. froggyintexas

I love my Ginghers and my children learned very early Moms sewing scissors were off limits. I have sent both to be sharpened once by Ginghers, and they were like new! Bought my last pair with a Joann coupon, , when it was Clothworld. Both are older than 20 years.

I have the small size sewing scissors because it feels more comfortable in my hand. Also have the applique scissors and a smaller size I use for my hand stitching and embroidery. I purchase them at Joann's when they have a 50% off coupon.

I've been gifted a wonderful pair from a coworker whose mom is not able to sew anymore (and my goodness that woman has talent!) amongst a lot of other lovely things. They are truly fantastic and will be treasured!

I have many pairs of Ginghers in all sizes. I have several that were my DM's, my own, and my DD and DGS bought me the applique? ones for Xmas. Love them all and also like my Fiskars.

I used to have a quilt shop and sold the ginghers there. I still have four pair of the dressmakers and a dozen or so of the five inchers which I use to cut applique. I still buy them wholesale and it is a good thing because one or two seem to go missing every time I teach a class!
