Default Which Glow-in-the-dark thread?

Do you have a favorite glow-in-the-dark thread? I want to use some for a quilt for my DGS and am hoping to get some that glows bright and long.

I'll be watching your post as I'd like to know the answers you get. I think my grandsons would Love something like that on a quilt.

I used it on a non-pieced solid quilt top about 20 years ago so my experience probably wouldn't have much meaning to you..
I quilted by hand and the whole center used that thread. (krenick) It was hard to work with and anything over 12" would shred. I like to do unexpected things in quilts but that was pointless .
I'd had to put the quilt by a window, and then I could only see the glow if I picked it up and closed myself in a dark room without windows. The glow didn't last more than 5 minutes or so.

I look forward to hearing other's experience!

Coats and Clark GITD is my go to. I stopped working on a quilt one evening, then later went into the kitchen (sewing area). It was dark, and before I turned on the light I noticed that I could see the GITD thread spool, and the thread going through the thread guides, tension, etc on my machine! Also, the stars were glowing on the quilt I was working on. That was just from the afternoon/evening light as I was working on the quilt. I bought mine at J's with coupon.

I've used Marthon in embroidery projects in the past, with good success. Sewed well, no breakage, but it was for Halloween treat bags which were not laundered. I was just reading an article about a newer product from Superior (Nitelight Extraglow) that's supposed to glow longer & brighter, but no practical experience with it.

Have you checked out Superior's glow in the dark threads. I have yet to use them, but they look good. Here is the webpage:https://www.superiorthreads.com/glow...e-dark-thread/. I like their other threads.

I have used the original glow-in-the-dark thread by Superior and while it was OK to use, I didn't think it glowed that much in the dark. I want the effect on a new quilt I am making, so I wondered if I should try a different brand or try Superior's new version. I generally like Superior threads (and needles). I was hoping people had some experience to share.

I have used Coats and Clarks and Superior and they both performed the same, I couldn't tell any difference in them. They are hard to work with, must be a coating or how the thread is made. The thread kept breaking while I sewed so I slowed down and that seemed to solve the problem.
