If I want something a little fancy I use a double Irish chain in soft neutrals. If I want just something pretty quick, I use a Double Irish Chain and If I need something just to be serviceable, I use a Double Irish Chain. The rest are the ones I just want to playwith

My "go to" baby quilt or other quick gift, it all depends on the fabrics you use is a fairly simple 6" square of fabric alternating with a 9-patch. I cut 2 1/2" strips, 5 of one color and 4 of another, then sew together into 9-patch blocks, and alternate with 6 1/2" of focus fabric. Adding a 6 1/2" border with maybe a 2" narrow border strip as an accent and you have a quilt. My other "go to" quilt pattern is the 8-pointed star, alternating with squares of the focus fabric. Hope this helps.

Disappearing 9 Patch is easy and quick, and people like it. I have made many for wedding quilts when I didn't want to spend too much time. They were well received.

A simple snowball and 9 patch! These finish at 6" blocks. Have made it in many color combinations. The squares in the 9 patch are the same size as the corners of the snowball.
