We are going to visit my Daughter in Troy Ohio and then head toward N. Royalton, OH to visit my sister, can anyone give me some stores that we must see!! My hubby wants to also go to Lehmns hardware in OH and the Amish area. I'm sure there will be stores there too. Do you have any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions.

If you're taking the tollroad get off at the Fremont exit #91 and go south on Rt. 53. Follow the map here -- http://www.thedoormouse.com/map.htm

The Doormouse has TONS of fabric. If they don't have it, then you don't need it! It's only about 10 or 15 min from the tollroad.

Miller's Dry Goods in Charm is my favorite. Gramma Fannie's Quilt Barn in Berlin, Hearthside Quilt Shoppe in Kidron for just a few.

try going to a maps website (like google or yahoo) - get your route established and then search for quilt stores and they'll show up on the section of map you have displayed.

I just did this the other day for a trip we're planning on taking in a few months.

My SIL, who lives in that area, has mentioned this one. I also enjoy Lehman's Hardware Store.

There are some great quilt shops and a weekend flea market in Millersberg....not a far drive from Lehman's. A good fabric outlet right beside the flea market and nice quilt shops downtown.

Try website "Quilter's Travel Companion". It has LQS for each
State and Show's going on in the area.

How long will you be in Troy? Google shows it to be just north of Dayton. If that's right, it looks like you'll be about an hour from Waynesville if you have an afternoon or morning to spare. You can visit The Fabric Shack! Head south on 75 to exit #38 and go east on OH 73 about 11 miles (per google). In Waynesville, turn left onto Main Street. Go up a couple blocks and turn right onto Miami Street. Store is on your left - parking is on other side of building.

Don't miss the Fabric Shack at Waynesville, OH. One of the best in this part of Ohio. There are some smaller ones around Centerville and Englewood and one in Springfield, but the Fabric Shack has it all under one roof. Enjoy! It is on Rt. 42 south of Xenia.

No they closed in May. They had a serious flooding issue in April and anounced they would close.

Country Craft Cupboard in Berlin is a great store and there is another one right across the street (name escapes me). Karen Lamp is the owner and carries some unusual patterns. The Charm fabric store is only 5 miles away.

Coffee shop in Berlin is nice place for husbands to wait while in Berlin. Hubby spent several hours there.

Every restaurant we ate at was wonderful. Walnut Creek, just down the road, has a motel for $69 a night with service and a breakfast just as good as any Comfort Inn. Very clean and wonderful farm views. Two great restaurants within walking distance. Husbands tried them both.

I love this area. Did not make it to the flea market but it is in a nice new building.
