    In my opinion, it alllllll depends on the quality, and that's something I'd have to judge by the feel of the fabric.

    Check the bolt for thread count. I wouldn't use any that is less than 300TC and the higher the better. They had some on sale (online) last week and I noted that the ones that they marked the thread count on were only 180...not good for quilting! Good luck, I hope it's what you need it to be.

    If its the stuff I buy at Joann's on sale, I love it. It's a bamboo blend, light but strong and not transparent.

    I have to feel the fabric at JoAnns. Some of it is very good and some of it is quite horrid. And the price isn't always the determining factor. I was there today and felt some $9.99 per yard fabric that was awful! So, I would have to go and check it out in person before I would buy it. Good luck:-)
