I am going to be spending a few days in Atlanta helping my daughter recover from surgery. I'm hoping that I may be able to slip away and check out a couple of quilt shops in the Atlanta area. Any "don't miss" suggestions?

I know of these.

Little Quilt, Tiny Stitches, and Red Hen all in Marietta. Then there is InTown Quilter, Thread Bear.(google for addy, can't remember the town address). Also Georgia Sewing and Quilting. I just googled Atlanta area quilt shops and there is a lis of shops for the upcoming Shop Hop with names and addresses. Good luck and have fun. These are all GREAT shops.

The address for Bear Threads is 515 Sawnee Corners Blvd in Cumming. This store has TONS of fabric, jelly rolls, layer cakes and MODA which is my fav. fabric line.

What area are you going to be visiting? Maybe we can meet up one day at one of the shops if you would like. No pressure to do so just thought I would put the invitation out there.

My favorite shops are just south of Atlanta. Quilts and Fixins in Jonesboro has a good selection of civil war and 30's prints. They are very helpful in choosing fabrics. The second shop is The Scarlet Thread in McDonough. They boast to be the largest quilt shop in Georgia. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Thanks for the offer, what fun that would be!! My daughter lives near Turner Field and is having surgery at Northside Hospital. I'm afraid I'm going to be totally tied up with caring for her which is why I'm coming out in the first place. But I'm still hoping I might get to sneak away at the spur of the moment to check out a quilt shop so maybe I'll be able to check out one of your suggestions. Thanks again so much.
