So this is the story. I have this friend that has been with me since high school. He and I never were romantic, it just wasn't in us. We were just best friends, all through high school and into our adult years. We held each other up during some really hard trials in life. Then he got married, and then I got married, moved to different ends of the country. We have kind of lost touch for about seven or eight years.

In October we actually met up again through Facebook. We have re-kindled our friendship and it's been awesome. I recently went out to visit him and his family.

We used to have this knock-knock joke that we would tell each other centering around a panther. I made him a pillow with a panther embroidered on it a long time ago for his birthday. He told me that his son just barely used it for the last time and it had to be dumped.

In our time apart I have taken to quilting, and his birthday is coming up. I would really like to make him a small little quilt with a panther on it, but there is nothing anywhere that I can see or find that has a panther on it that I can duplicate into a quilt...

I'm sorry if this is long and rambling, but I wanted you all to know the history and the importance for me of making a "panther" quilt for this wonderful friend. Any help, or being pointed in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much my quilty friends!

OOOh, I like the blank panther out of the minkee fabric...I am wondering how that minkee is to work with...maybe someone will answer that question too :)

minkee is not hard if you put light iron on stiffner.
I used this in a warm wishes baby quilt.
