The only thing I don"t like about mine, they carry more and more fleese all the time, all year long, and more home decor( furniture ,lamps, etc) and less and less fashion fabric. I still like to sew clothing!! Years ago in Lexington, we had a Singer sewing shop, and they carried the most beautiful fabrics for clothing. I use to do a lot of crafting, and I enjoy that sort of thing, but sort of wish craft stores and fabric stores were different.

Here in DFW, we have a Hancocks and Joann's Superstore in the same shopping center. Makes life easier when I'm headed that way.

Personally, I don't care for Hancock's. The one near me doesn't really have a good selection of quilting fabrics and it's usually kind of junked up. We do have a Hobby Lobby here that I prefer. Better selection and prices are about the same.

We have one where I live ande I really like it, it is nice and clean and neat and tidy. Lately it seems like they have really gotten in some really nice fabric.
I lilke shopping there. :-)

I agree with Clem55-they have too much fleece and home decor stuff. They do have some nice fabric but they also have some not so nice fabric. They seem to be getting nicer stuff in lately but you still have to look and feel.

dkabasketlady and I shop at the same Hancock's store. A couple years ago, it was heading downhill, but they got a new manager who has really shaped the place up. It is where I run to whenever I need anything. Our local Joannes is more like a craft store that has fabric as a sideline. We have a few LQS in the area, but it is too easy for me to overspend there.

I'll shop at Hancock's. I rent their classroom to teach beginning quilting and a block of the month, so I tend to use their fabrics for those projects. The women at JoAnn's are so rude that I haven't been in there in almost 10 years. I spend a lot of $$ on fabric and won't shop where they don't appreciate customers.

Went today, in Marion, IA they had their batiks at 50% off. Got some for the first time, can't wait to experiment with them.

As with any fabric store you have to look, feel, love the choices.
