I decided to try and 'stitch in the ditch' around the big squares on the machine. Would it be acceptable to then use a small quilting hoop and hand quilt around the tulips? Or, should I just find someone to professionally quilt it? Please share some opinions :)
I don't know what's "right" but I've done several quilts with both machine stitching and hand stitching. It's been said before: "It's YOUR quilt."

I had to finish a t-shirt quilt that way. And just this week, I finished a baby quilt that way, too. It's whatever the quilt tells you to do. (I'm NO PRO, but I do get a lot of great advice from the awesome people on this board. They give me confidence to try new things.)

You are the artist, do what you want. There are no rules! I like to march to my own drummer!
