Okay so I'm trying to figure out how to label my quilt for the United Way silent auction...

Hand Made by machine?? It's sounds funny. How do you say the quilt was hand made, without making people think it was hand pieced and hand quilted? Both were done by machine.

As always, thanks for helping me out...:)

home made would work. that way people understand that there is a person who made the quilt.

What if you say "handcrafted?" Or "created?"

    That's enough.

Those that know will know. Those that don't still won't, but at least they'll know it didn't come from the Pottery Barn. ;-)

I don't think you need to specify the method.

Of course, there's another angle to throw into the mix when a person only does the piecing and not the quilting. It's no longer the work of only one. In that case I think "created by " both the piecer *and* the quilter is most appropriate.

Specially made for _______ by ___________.

One-of-a -kind quilt made by ______________

I've wondered about how to label things, too.
