English Paper Piecing - as raedar63 and the other's have said, hexagons or postage stamp. Be very aware, postage stamps are completely addictive.

Go to search and put in postage stamp, you will see quite a few postings and pics within them.

I print out a grid and cut my 1 inch squares, then cut my bits and pieces of fabric into 1 1/2 inch squares, baste over the paper and then divide them into dull/dark and lights/brights. They are whipstiched together like the hexagons. There are many English Paper Piecing tutes around if you are not familiar with how it's done. Lacelady had a fantastic postage stamp quilt in progress using a similar method.

Cathedral windows. Then you would not have to quilt it, and you could do it in sections.

I usually take along a bag of applique with me to do. It doesn't require a lot of stuff to do.

I would do English paper piecing, or a traditional cathedral window. Have fun!
