Has anyone bought fabric lots from ebay?
Were you happy with the quality and quantity? I make rag quilts, QAYG, purses, little girl dresses, and other projects if that helps with the question. Are there certain vendors you prefer? Are there other online sites you like better? Are there certain vendors you would not buy from again? Thanks for any input you can offer.

this is such a wide open question because unlike buying from an online quilt shop, there are about a zillion different sellers. Having said that, I have bought LOTS of stuff on ebay including fabric. I look at the feedback number, and if you click on the number, you can actually see the feedback posts. i look to see what items the comments are about, then make a decision. There is a place on this board where board members sell fabric. This might be something you would also like to consider.

Hi...I have had some amazing fabric deals from ebay and some really bad experiences....if I buy from a private seller I now always ask if it from a smoke free environment as I bought some once that smelt so bad I could never use it !

I have bought scraps, old blocks, an unfinished top and cut pieces. If you are NOT buying from a shop or regular vendor be sure to read the descriptions and squint at the pictures. Some dealers don't know as much about fabric as they might....especially about fabric content. Ask questions before bidding.
The charm packs I purchased from several sellers have been GREAT--perfectly cut, smooth, and assortments I would never been able to assemble myself.

I bought some hoping to use it in a quilt for a grandson. When it arrived the fat quarters were gutted and the fabric was of awful quality. I contacted the seller - well you don't need to know about the tussel which followed.
Now I buy only what I can examine with my hands.
