Default Have you ever done this?

Have you ever cut down a quilt to fit a piece of batting? I was getting ready to sandwich a wall hanging this morning and it was a liiitttllle too big for the piece of batting it had dug out of my batting pile. I get So tired of sewing batting together because I have all these random pieces left over from other projects. I just decided that it would look fine with smaller borders, cut an inch off around the whole thing, and viola! Am I the only one that has ever done this? I'll admit, I was thinking of all the quilting artists that would be appalled at what I had done.

I would do it if it just had plain straight borders. As long as it didn't leave me with chopped off points, I go for it.

I would totally do it as long as it didn't compromise my design! I've never heard of batting police, so I think you're fine!

I've done whatever it took to get the quilt finished: glued, stapled, trimmed, fused.

have done it! No biggy to me. But usually nothing to compromise the blocks. I try to add at least 8 inches of batting more than the top. 4 inches extra to each side and each top and bottom of top.

I would if my quilt looked ok with it done that way. After all no one will know but you and us that you have told but we won't tell anyone.
