A quilt for me? Ha! My kids keep having kids and I can't seem to keep up with them let alone making one just for me. haven't even made one for my DH who funds my quilting stash. Maybe one of these days. I did buy some beautiful gold paisley fabric thinking I'd use it on a backing for a quilt for myself but during my daughters graduation I pinned it together to make a temporary cover for my long arm and my DH loved it on there. He keeps asking me when I'm going to make the permanent cover out of the fabric, so I guess that's the end of that idea.

I have tons of fabric that I absolutely love and for some reason there are a few pieces that can't bring myself to CUT.
(duh, that's the reason I bought it. right? - at least I'm pretty sure that was my intention when I fell in love with it.)

SO.. DMIL was here from Indiana last week.
(sweating her booty off in S.E. Texas!)
I took her to a quilt shop in Old Town Spring.
It's stacked 3 and 4 bolts high throughout 2 houses.
    ALL Moda fabric.

    Well.. I made a decision.
I bought 3 charm packs and 2 cuts of coordinating fabric.
I've given myself express permission to CUT this fabric and MAKE something of it!
Come hell or high water, I'm determined to make a lap quilt for myself.

It feels kinda good to assert myself to do one for ME for a change. :)

    Code:
Of course...now I'm feeling a little guilty and selfish. UGH! What a complex.
Anyone else ever have/had a problem making something for yourself?
You do not have to feel guilt. you have made them for every one else.... now it is YOUR TURN. Enjoy the process as well.

I love making small applique wall quilts - when my husband see them the first thing out of his mouth is "that would make a great placemat"- I don't think so...... But now I am making one for myself -it is a block of the month over the internet - It is all hand applique and I am lap quilting each square -it will probably take me 2 years but that is ok!!
