Pulled out a UFO and realized how much your skills have improved?
I'm a relatively new quilter, but I had to make 2 quilts in a very short time, and then went back to work on what I was doing 'before.' I think I stopped working on it in late April, and picked it back up again today. I'm trimming hsts, and have realized that I'm going to be making some replacements tonight. The ones I made, well, some are just too wonky! Some are too big, which is fine, but some are way too small and I must have ironed the heck out of them because they are slanty...
Someday, I'll have to make an "ugly" quilt with all my weird pieces...

Weird pieces look great on Crazy quilts. Just sew them in and don't worry about it. I have a whole bag of stuff that i occasionally sew into an ongoing crazy quilt. tim in san jose

Yes, in fact sometimes I set projects aside for 6 months or so, just for this very reason. A bit of time helps the skills improve and eases the frustration levels down.
