Definitely Susan Branch. She has a website and blog. She’s written novels and recipe books. Lovely watercolor illustrations included.

Moda has phrases on some of their recent collections, some phrases from poems, and some nice thoughts.

I've never seen anything like that.

Moda's Garden Notes collections says "The earth laughs in flowers...R.W. Emerson."

Grann of 6, I have some Moda fabric right now that has writing on the selvage. I don't know why but I save selvages (not like I've done anything with them). I can't recall what designer without looking though.

Ariannaquilts, what part of PA do you live in? I'm about 45 minutes from Lancaster.

Kate Spain, I think is the one with the quotations. Her Merry Merry fabric says "all is calm all is bright".

I agree, Susan Branch. Love her illustration work. She does the lovely Vera the Mouse character which I love.

Well I have learned a few things! I'll start checking selvedge more carefully. I know that some of Moda's have little pictures on them, but haven't seen any with an expression or quote on them before.

I think those who said Susan Branch are correct. I've never heard of her before, but some of her designs are adorable. The only fabric I saw listed on her website was through Spoonflower, which is a little pricey!

    Thank you for your thoughts.
