I can’t say why but the light batik suggests feathers to me. Kind of like knitting cables twining around the 8 patches down in rows towards the dark border and then feather cable around the edge of the top in the dark squares.

Are you using a long arm or DSM? I do my quilting on my DSM, so that is my perspective. I would do an all-over design like paisley or may be called clam shells. Your pretty quilt has a lot going on and an intricate quilting design may be lost in it.

When the pattern presents a dilemma, I tend to go with an all-over design... perhaps in light gray thread?

    Your quilt is beautiful!

I'm using a DSM - a light grey is a great idea! I was struggling with colour also!

Thanks all ... I'll look for an all over design.

My machine just got shipped to Brother in Montreal, so I am without my "baby" for at least a week! Time to get those quilt tops marked!

think I'd go with an all over too. If not I'd emphasize the diagonals somehow, maybe feathers with the purples just with a geometric for squares (a'la Angela Walters).

Beautiful quilt. I would quilt the heck on the white/light then go back to change to a matching thread for more dense purple sections with just some light quilting. My goal would be to have the white/light heavily quilted cause the purple to really pop.

Just my opinion, but really love your work. Thanks for asking. Karen
