HELP! Bernina165e won't sew
I'm looking for someone who can help me. I have a Bernina165e. The machine sat for a few years. Now I'm trying to use it but it will not sew. It successfully winded the bobbin but will not sew. I've read the manual everything looks correct. Idk what else to do. Please help
thanks

Double check the bobbin winder to make sure it's not still engaged. My machine wouldn't sew one time and I finally realized the bobbin winder was pushed to the on position. Hope it's nothing more serious than that.

My neighbor recently had a problem with her sewing machine and I offered to check it for her. It turned out she had two different sized bobbins, both plastic and almost identical, and she was using the wrong one. With the right bobbin her machine sewed beautifully. I'm not suggesting that's your problem, but before taking the machine in for a checkup I would check all the more obvious things.
When you say it won't sew, can you be more specific? Does the needle go up and down? Does it pull up the bobbin thread?

It sounds like it might need a good oiling. Can you remove the top cover, oil any parts that move or any points/joints that are metal to metal, also lay it down on it's back and oil the metal to metal parts under the machine. Let it set for awhile to allow the oil to penetrate.

Is it easy to move the handwheel to make the needle go up and down? I agree with ksdot that it has the symptoms of still being in the bobbin winding mode, but you've already checked that. Sometimes the needle won't move if there is any lint or thread stuck in the bobbin area. It could be very small, so get a flashlight and look carefully. Other than that I can't think what it might be.
