Or, cut the stripe on the bias and add a little red piping. Striped bias is always so interesting. Let us see what you decide and please allow us to see the rest of the quilt.

Incidentally, the striped border is fine.

Ditto! I love the striped boarder, especially if you miter the corners like it shows in your photo.
