Started my first yellow Brick road , twin size, and I made a mistake!! I cut 9 of the 18 fat quarters with the fold on the 21/22 side instead of the 18! So now what do I do ? Because of the mis-cut I do have bits of the those fat quarters left over, so can I just use those somehow. Help!

I save ALL my scraps and cut-offs for applique-and even if you don't applique now, you may want to later on. You can also use them for small projects like I did at Christmas-made gift-card holders, ornaments, and other small gifts which you can use those scraps on. I just keep them in clearf plastic stacking boxes sorted by color (well, I do have alot!), but until you gather a "stash" of scraps, they look pretty just thrown in a clear plastic or glass jar on a shelf!! If you don't want them anyway, I would make a good home for them!!LOL I take it the error won't affect your quilt, though! That is the important thing!

Thank you but I meant " How can I use the scraps to make my Yellow Brick Road quilt." I cut the pieces for it wrong. Which means I will be short of some pieces. I need to figure out how to do the quilt using the scrape to compensate for my error.

can you piece the scrap pieces to make the size piece you need, or piece together different fabrics and get the size you need. It may look different from the pattern but fit together?

Yes,I will have to do something like that. So it will be a modified Yellow Brick Road! Oh well just reminds you to READ twice or 3 times before you cut. have to run for exercise class. Thanks for trying to help.

I did the same thing when I made that the first time....I ended up stitching the parts together to make it come out...sometimes with fabric that was not used orginally. If you do not cut exactly as the pattern directs, you have a problem....just use some of your stash and add to the peices that are too short. It will be different, but next time you will know.

Or maybe you can get another fabric to use in place of the one miscut and save that for another project. Just a thought! Sorry for the mishap!
