Why don't you post this over in the Vintage Sewing Machine thread:

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-43881-1.htm

Lots of folks there who thrive on rescuing, identifying & using vintage machines. I'm certain they will be able to help you.
(don't let the number of pages throw you...this thread has been going for awhile & is very active...just pop over to the last one & jump right it.)

Wow, looks like the model with the Egyptian motifs on it. There is a whole bunch of info in the search on tredle machines. This one is need of your tender loving care. So jealous!

thanks it does have Egyptians on it. my camera and the lighting is not the best in the world. They did not even have it cover so it was exposed to the weather but it still works i have not done a project with it but it does sew a piece of scrap

Go look on the Singer site under serial numbers....the serial number will tell you where it was made, the year and how many. Also go to the vintage machine shop as QuiltinCowgirl suggested...lots of great advice and people...Lostn51 (Billy) is a treadle fanatic as are many others (me included).

I found an old singer, made in 1939. It looks like it is in the same shape as yours. The guy at the thrift store wanted 39.00 for it. No attachements, no power cord, no case or anything. Just the black rusty machine. I would not know where to start on restoration, so I passed on it.

Did I make a mistake?
