    Question Help for a friend!!!

I have a friend that just made a round bargello quilt and it is stunning! What we can't figure out is how to quilt it? She wants to quilt it on her LA but she is open to suggestions. What pattern looks good. We both agree that she should follow the color strata's. I love this board for all the help they provide! Thank you in advance.

I have never done a round quilt, but I would think she would need to add fabric to the edges to make it a square so she can fasten it to the leaders. As far as quilting design, I guess whatever she wants.

I have never seen a round Bargello but I have made dozens of rectangles ones and I quilt with lines following the design. Not sure if that would work. I have always feel that the piecing should be the star of of the quilt so I would be careful not to do any quilting that will take away from the beauty of the piecing. Wish you had posted a photo.

Hard to say without a picture but I might watch Angela Walter's video of the Plume Feather and see if you could elongate it to follow the colours?

I had mine done with loops getting bigger from the center. My LA went across 2 bands so it did not get too small in the center.

you do not really need to add anything to make it square you would just float the top the back of course would be square and that would be attached to the leaders. I do not attach any top to a leader I just baste it and float it
