Exclamation Help!help getting the picture into words

I'm designing a pattern, I need help getting the picture into words. If any of you have been following myposts this morning, it's a heart shaped quilt, with 48 inches of gold ribbon, split into 24 and 24. And it all started from a dream! I need a lot of help writing the writen pattern for this!

start by makeing the (block?) 48" what ever it is---as you construct it make notes-== what you cut- the size, shape, which fabric used, ect- keep notes- when you are finished with your (sample) you can then sit down with your notes and re-write them into a pattern format.

I have the paper design... it took me three hours to figure out each exact measurement, individual shape inside the quilt... I'm just not sure how to put them into words! Most of them are different

A picture is worth a thousand words. I would take pics during the process, each step (lots of pics). You will be able to write directions after without leaving out the smallest detail. I think other board members have had other members work with the pattern to do the test drive. Good luck with your adventure!!

I remember that is how others did, simply each thing they did they took a picture and wrote down how they did it and measurement, etc. One of the quilters took time to teach me how to make something by doing it that way quilter711 is right about that.
