Help--Making a Michigan Star Quilt Block
#12
Don't know if this has been suggested but I see flying geese. Yes you would have a seam in the cream background but it would give you the most accurate block. One side of the geese would be your background and the other would be your red or brown. Example if your block finishes at 12" then the flying geese would finish at 2" x4". Make sense?

There is no y seam. Just three squares across and three down......the center squares in top and bottom row are made is quarter square triangles.... An easy basic block......look for directions on how to make a quarter square block.....as far as size of bloc...easier if divisible by 3.

Thank you, this helps me with most of it. Maybe I'm just really obtuse but I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to cut the two little triangles that sit next to the quarter triangle. I don't know how to paper piece and am just getting really frustrated I've been tinkering with this all morning and not getting anywhere. Can anyone tell me exactly how to do those triangles? When that center side block is finished, it should be 4.5 inches.
