Default Help me identify a mystery batik?

I received this in a remnant pack I bought online. It is considered a batik, but has a sateen feel and has a coppery metallic dot on it. I was wondering if anyone's seen it or knows who makes it? This is more a curiosity, since I've never known a batik to have this feel. I suppose maybe the strange finish is done to support the metallic, since the metallic paint might just seep through typical batik-weight fabrics? The other batiks in the pack are very good quality, clearly identifiable name brands. I couldn't find this one online.

Here's a photo. The fabric is a little more green in person than shown here.

Does it feel like it could be a rayon batik? I haven't seen that design but I have almost purchased rayon for batik shirts.

Sorry, I have never seen this batik either. Doesn't look like anything Hoffman, TT or RK ever made.

No, it definitely feels like Sateen. Picture the Kona Bay sateens (their Asian prints) and then dye it as a batik.

Why not contact the store you bought it from and see if they remember the manufacturer? They might also be able to tell you the content. Hope you find your answers.

It was Fabric.com. The customer service people will likely not remember. They may never have seen the stock. ;-).

I'd give Fabric.com a try. You might even offer to send them a snip of the fabric if they can't tell from a picture. Surely someone in the organization will remember it. How long ago did you purchase it? Worst case scenario is that no one can identify it....best case is that they recognize it & have more that they are willing to sell you.

I'm not sure it's worth it. And I'm not looking for more. I would just love to know what it is.

That certainly looks like it. Now you have some information about the fabric that might help you find more!
