It's out in left field but what about 'Greased Lightning'? Just got to thinking about wheels spinning and sparks flying. Hope you FIL is feeling better.

Well, there's no rule that says the quilt's name has to reflect the design of the quilt, right? So, given he is a mechanic (cars) and he likes horses; if he likes Fords how about Blue Mustang? Or his name Mustang eg Bill's Mustang. Or Blue Galaxy?

It is still a work in progress, but as I am working on it I got to thinking
about the name I would give to it and the name just isn't coming to me.
It is for my Father in Law who has been in the hospital recently. This
is the first quilt that I have struggled to name. I asked my husband for
help and he told me that I am on my own with this one because he is
also stumped. Sigh....Maybe you guys could help give me a bit of
inspiration? He is an auto mechanic by trade. He loves cars and horses,
but none of the fabric on this quilt has any mention of those two things.
It is blue because he likes the color blue. I have never spent a lot of
time with him unless it was auto related, so this one is tough. I can
post a picture of my work in progress if that might help get some
of your creative ideas to flowing....thanks in advance.

Edited to add a photo -- loving what you have come up with so far. Thank you.

    Blue Star
    True Blue

Not very original, but all I could come up with right now. Sorry.

The Carpenters Wheel pattern has, also, been called Carpenters Star. Thinking of it that way, if you have it quilted with more stars that could be seen in the white open spaces, it could be

    Stars all Around
    Sleeping under the Stars
    My Blue Heaven
    Just Loving those Stars
Our love for you Goes to the Stars and Back
A Star for a Great xxxx Friend, Father, Mechanic
Loving you all the way to the Stars
    Space, the Final Frontier
