Your blocks are really great. I am working on a black, gray and white quilt for one of my grandson's. I used a deep, rich red with a little black print as an accent. I love it because it is very masculine and it has the right amount of 'pop'. I can hardly get my other work done because I am anxious to finish it. When I was at my LQS which is not very local I had several prints to choose from. I also thing other colors, the yellow, lime green or even blue would be great. What about two colors in the sashing. You might use one color on the top and one side and the second color on the bottom and second side. You could even vary the right angle positions in some blocks.

I would make the sashing the same width as the white stripes in your blocks. I would also use every bright color I had. I like the idea of making a gridded pattern with the colors in the sashing. Draw it out with crayons or colored pencils on a piece of gridded paper and play with different layouts of grids, X's, zig-zags, etc.

IMHO if you skip sashing the white will take over and and your black and white fabrics will fade into the background.

Very nice, try a lime green! I just finished a black and white with lime accents. Love it! Go for something that you would not usually pick.

Think about what the favorite color of the recipient is. I think, like a lot of others, that red would be great and would make the pattern 'pop' out. Also, a nice bright yellow, or lime green would look great. My daughter would love the lime green as that is the color she is 'in to' right now. I really love what you have done. Looks great.

Great quilt!

If it were mine, I'd for sure insert a sashing. Like others have said, audition various colors. You could also go with a neutral color for the sashing, then for pops of color make blocks the same width as the sashing at each intersection of the blocks. I've seen this done on lots of quilts and it's really nice.

Whatever you decide... be sure to share the final result.
