I have this pattern. I will go look at it and see if I can help. I know it is a tricky book to understand.

Ohhhh, so I need to sew & cut my 4" triangle units again?? This is certainly the hard way of doing it. I SO like your way better. Still not sure if I'm getting it.

Try it on some scrap fabric, you'll be amazed how easy and accurate

So, due to my own stupidity, if I already pressed open my triangle sets to make the larger units, would it be easier to fold back over & cut again to get them in half again so I could get them to the correct size & right number of units? If I didn't love this wallhanging so much, I'd think I'd give up right about now.

I would contact Debbie Mumm, as it is her pattern.

Thanks for the link. Do you think she'd be bothered with such a dumb question?? I was hoping I could sew tonight, but now looks like DH wants me to run to Lowe's for tile while he has the kids at softball practice. This is my only night for "me time". Maybe I could make it back quick before them. ;)

Go to page 11, maybe that is where you can figure it out.

Smiling , I think that we have figured out the problem! I do feel the instructions are wrong or time consuming for the size half square triangles it calls for. So my theory is to cut 2" squares of each fabric color and background... line them up, draw a line down diagonally and sew on each side of the line at 1/4" and your end product is two 1 1/2" squares, which is what you need for this pattern.
