I've seen a few pictures (thanks, Google!) with black sashing and it is really sharp.

Thanks for the info. I too fell in love with the pattern when I saw the picture...it's a beautiful quilt.

You can also get it from Keepsake Quilting. I made it a few months as a bridal shower gift in shades of cream and tan. It was very easy to do and gave me an opportunity to do some nice quilting in the large spaces.

Thanks for some insight - I need a quilt with large spaces - my last one was way to many pieces per block.

I think it is absolutely gorgeous and am toying with looking at the pattern as well. One thing that I find very interesting on second look is, to me the points are off kilter. What I mean is, the lighter colored diagonal strips don't continue from row to row. It's like the original square was cut into strips with sashing in between, but when sewn they were just a little off. Does that make sense to anyone but me?
    Still love the quilt.

Jratcliff, I noticed the same thing when I looked closer at it! I'm not an experienced quilter so it might make me feel like I did something wrong ;-) but I still really like the pattern.

That is the first thing I noticed. I guess it is my OCD, but it would drive me nuts to look at it and see uneven lines.
I would have to tweek it and make the lines match up. But I do love the quilt.
