Help Please: How would you connect the blocks?

Subscribe
I have a collection of Ohio Star quilt block samples. Each sample block is a finished quilted piece. I thought about sewing one block to another with a zigzag stitch, but I'm concerned it won't be a strong enough seam for a lap quilt.

Is there another method of sewing them together that would be stronger/more durable?

Should I relegate this project to wall art and table runers only?

Thank you for your advice.

There is a quilt as you go method. I am sure someone here can head you the right direction. Good luck with your project.

Do the blocks have binding on them already? What about using decorative stitches like a crazy quilt to stitch them together? I would use a zigzag stitch then go over that with the decorative stitching.
