    I'll just talk about the thimble thing. You need to find one that fits and is comfortable. The one I use is the teeniest bit loose on my finger. So I lick my finger before putting it on - or you could sweat a bit first, LOL. Works like a charm.

    Don't feel bad about the thimble, I have been quilting since the mid 70's and I never have gotten the hang of it. I tried several times to use one and have tried every kind of thimble they made, to no avail. But I do fine without one, when my fingers get sore, I go do dishes, the hot water takes the soreness out!
