Help - Quilty Christmas Tree Ornaments
Our guild does a tree every year at the local museum. The theme this year is Toy Land. So if anyone has any ideas, pictures, or links to a quilty ornament, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

You could make ornaments of any block with a toy on it - in a fairly small size - 3-4". Examples would be an airplane, a car (either applique or pieced). You could even do just shapes of toys, stuffed and quilted.

You could do some fabric alphabet blocks or those soft toy grab balls. I don't know what they are called but they are made up of little football shaped sections sewn together to form a ball. How about small teddy bears?

One year I made small teddy bears (maybe 6'' sitting) from muslin and tied red and green fabric around their neck. Really looked cute on my tree. You could make small dolls, use moss for their hair, use picture wire to make a halo and gather coffee filters for wings. What about a soft sided block for an ornament. Made from fussy cut Christmas fabrics would be cute.

Last year, I made a few of these snowflakes using two different Christmas fabrics and fusible interfacing (like you would use for applique) The ones I made ended up being only 6 inches high. Some I hand stitched together, and some I used Elmers glue. I think the hand stitched ones were better, even if they were more finicky. They certainly made an impression!
