Default Help with a signature quilt

I was wondering what I should use to stabilize the signing areas of a signature. The quilt will be put together and quilted when it is signed so I cannot use freezer paper. Any suggestions? Thanks

I've done 2 signature quilts but I just had people sign the muslin and then I figured out a pattern to work with them. I didn't even know I needed to stabilize the muslin and they all turned out just fine, so maybe if it is already quilted you won't need any further stabilizing beyond a hard, flat surface. I'll be watching to see if anyone has any great ideas cuz I'd love to have the quilt finished and give it as a gift right after the event...but I did heat-set the signatures, so maybe I would have to take the quilt home and do that or have the recipient do that.

Thanks for the response. I was wondering about using a really light weight wash-out fusible stablizer just in the areas that will besigned.

I ironed freezer paper behind the fabric to be signed. It worked great for me. And that quilt had 108 signed blocks in it!

I've made them and have never used anything to stabilize where the signatures go. Just make sure that you have something under it (I used freezer paper) when they sign as the pen will sometimes bleed through.
