Help with size of Twister Quilt

Subscribe
I want to make a 48" x 60" quilt using the 10" twister tool, I don't know how to figure out how many 10" blocks I need to cut, I know you use a 6" outer border and I think a 2" inner border. Can anyone help me figure this out. Oh and some how you have to figure in the border for the blocks. I'm so confused. Can someone help me? thanks

I used a 6½" ruler and sewed 8½" blocks. 8 across and 10 down with a 6" border all round. There is very little waste this way. with a 48x60 you would need 6 across and 8 down with the 6" border and you should come pretty close to that size. I had pictures on the board sometime ago, will try and find them....

Thanks Linda, so your saying if I cut 48 10" blocks and sew them together and put a 6" border around the blocks then recut using the twister tool for 10" blocks, sew together, add a 2" inner border and a 5" outer border, I should end up with a 48x60" quilt, I'm going to try and make a baby quilt and I don't want to start cutting until I'm sure about this.
