I agree with the others. Play in stash. You may find some great fabrics that look wonderful together and want to be a quilt.

Scrap quilts are dynamic and colorful. Bonnie Hunter has a website that's chock full of scrap quilt patterns-- free.

Go get some of the fabric from the bottom of you stash (or the bottom of the stack of boxes or the back of the closet ) and revisit them. The'll look new to you and it might help with the buying bug. I know I have fabrics I don't even remember buying, so that stuff is all new to me!

I understand completely. I just bought a groupon thing for a LQS for fifty percent off. I have til Jan to use it, but we'll see how long it takes. It is also not helping that stitchinheaven.com is having a buy 15 yds of fabric, get 15 yds free sale on friday. Nothing like a half off sale to whittle away at your defenses! Virg

Go to your sewing room and handle some fabrics, pick out a pattern and start on a new project for a charity quilt. :D

Just learned more about organization of your stash, after you have put them in color order, pull out the texture, I did this and discovered I don't have much texture in my stash, good luck.

Maybe your sewing machine needs a fall cleaning?

Go fondle your fabric stash and you'll probably find something that you forgot you have. Now, to make it feel like you are buying it, send a donation to your favorite local charity. :-)

Perhaps I should take my own advise and do this the next time I feel like buying something.

If you do little quilts for charity ... you can cut out a BUNCH, using your stash, put them in gallon zip lock bags and you'll be all ready to sew when the "need-to-shop" syndrome passes and the "need-to-sew" itch starts!
