My fabric adventures…. Weatherford …..

I was fortunate enough to make my way to a couple of quilt shops on my way home from my parents house.. I came to a lil town called Weatherford in Texas.. I grabbed my GPS and typed in Quilts and a few shops came up.. It was getting late in the day so I had to make it quick.. The first one I decided to hit was …Quazy Quilt Shoppe.. http://quazyquiltshoppe.com/ It was a cute cottage style shop. Each 'room' was filled wall to wall with beautiful fabrics.. Lovely quilts adorned the walls.. The employees were absolutely helpful and super friendly.. I was immediately approached, greeted and was offered information on their classes.. Hmm, long drive for me to come back for them, so I politely declined and then the tour of the shop began.. Clean, organized and soooo many fabric choices it was awesome.. I found some fabrics I couldn't live without and I did find some really nice selections in their clearance section as well.. Not to shabby!! The prices are comparable to most LQS but if you are in the area you should check it out just to check it out..

From there one of the employees directed me to Gibson’s Ace hardware.. Yes you read it correctly It was an ACE HARDWARE with what they called ‘soft goods’. Hmmmm, interesting... I had to check it out.. I walked in and it looked just like an ACE Hardware should look like, but I wandered further in and found the delightful 'soft goods' section.. They had a nice selection of really nice quality fabric for slightly less than LQS prices.. I do believe most was Moda fabric too.. They even had a notions section... Wow, who knew an ACE would carry such things?!?!?! lol..This was definitely a 'must stop' place… I picked out my goodies and went on my way.. http://local.yahoo.com/info-18861758...re-weatherford

So if you ever in Weatherford Texas, stop by and check them out.. If I can download my pics Ill post them.. BTW-I am no way affiliated with these shops, I just wanted to share my adventure with you all just in case you ever might be in that area..

I've been through Weatherford many times years ago. I'm a Texan transplanted to Oregon a long time ago, but still have a few relatives scattered around Texas.... Your posting has made me remember my childhood there and how dear my aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends were to me...Now I'm the oldest living member of that branch of my family.

Just saw this post. You need to stop by Quazy Quilt shop again and see all the great things they have now. Love their staff.
So helpful. There's two sweet ladies by the names of Donna and Alline that work there. They were so friendly and helpful. I did got to Peach Tree and its smaller but she does have a nice selection of Batiks.
We also made our way to Gibson's by the referral of Donna of QQ and was so delighted to actually see the mixture of things. We laughed so much at the humor of QQ saying its the only QS you can buy good fabric and a hammer.
Thanks for the tips and wanted you to know we also went about a month ago.
