Default Help - warm wishes pattern

I want to use the Warm Wishes pattern for my Granddaughter. I have a Girl Scout jelly roll and was thinking a solid for the squares. I have been looking at images and can not find any with a solid big square and patterned strips. Any thoughts? I saw lots of patterns with patterned center squares and solid strips. Think it would look ok?

I think it would good if each solid rectangle were framed by the same fabric. That would take some planning as it's the strips that frame the rectangle. I'd have to use my design wall to lay it out.

I like the idea of solid squares. They could be personalized too. That is a nice pattern for large blocks and a jelly roll.

I was just looking at Pintrest and there are dozens of different looks for this pattern. Depending on the ages of your Girls Scouts may be a deciding factor in the colors. Include the girls in the decision making since this is their quilt. Great or good this will be their quilt and their quilting experience. You might be very surprised by them no matter their ages. My sister is a leader for a mixed aged group of girls. They all work on projects together but what ever is age appropriate for each girl is their input. It is amazing how many different quilts come out of this group.
