Default Help- what pattern is this

I saw this on Etsy, and the quilter called it Champion Block Pattern - but that doesn't come up when I search for it. It would be a perfect pattern for me to make for my son's Charger quilt.

It is the Carpenter's Star. You can find it here: http://www.maryquilts.com

Don't you love it when people rename patterns? NOT! Nice layout for a sports quilt though.

Oh - thank you so much, Quilting Haven. Tartan, that is very devious, isn't it. That is what I thought too, but looking at all the sports fabrics, ie. tshirts - all the fabric is polyester. Concerned about mixing that with cotton.

Another view:

That version would be fairly easy to draft - it's on an 8x8 grid - if you do your own drawings.

There seems to be more than one way to cut the pieces to get the same effect (from a distance).

T shirt quilts routinely mix cotton and knits. You back the knit pieces with light stabilizer before cutting to size.

Marsh, what size do you want to make the quilt?? This is a square quilt. I can draw this quilt using EQ7. It is going to be an easy quilts since it is half square triangles and squares.

Marsh, if you want a quilt measuring 60" x 60", you can make this quilt using 6" finished blocks and border. Here is the design of what your quilt would look like. I would match whatever the color is in the Charger fabric being either a yellow or a gold. Hope this helps you.
