What a great bff you are. This was a nice way to help her have time to herself and to make some quilts. Hope the once a month thing works out so you all enjoy the me time. Nice of your hubby to grill lunch for you all.

UPDATE My BFF called today to say what a great time she had. She said she is more relaxed today than she has been in a long time. She actually took the afternoon to herself and went to the backyard with her quilt to put the binding on. She told them all to get along without her for a while. I am so glad that she is taking time for herself. She took care of her mom for so long. She was a wonderful Mom and my friend took such good care of her.But she feels she didn't do enough. If only she could have done more maybe she wouldn't have died. She has had such a hard time not feeling guilty. I think she is finally realizing that she did all she could do and that her Mom truly loved her for it. If I can make things a little easier for her I will feel truly blessed. Thank you all for the kind words. I feel all quilters are like a huge family and we all need to support one another.

It's wonderful that you're getting your friend out, but it sounds to me like she needs to deliver a backbone and tell her stepson and her sister to move out and start supporting themselves.
