    Welcome to the board from Murrells Inlet, SC. Never have done a hexagon shape, but seems it wouldn't be much different than square corners that are done with mitered corners. Have fun.

    Go to Jinny Beyer's web site: www.jinnybeyer.com/jgoctdil. She has on line videos about bindings. Her method of bringing the binding to the front does not appeal to me, but the videos about mitering binding on odd corners is very good.

    You could either miter the edges or you could sew the backing on right sides to right sides and leave an opening and turn. Then whipstitch closed.
