Default Hi!- Question About New Machine

Looking for a good sewing machine past my old Wal-Mart brother that keeps jamming up and giving me fits. Looking at the following: Janome 4120QDC, Babylock-Melody or Tempo or Symphony, Janome 3160 QDC. Thoughts? Thanks!!!

If all you want to do is piece, a featherweight is great. I also love my new Bernina 880 with differential feed. Any Bernina with differential feed would be great. Consider used to bring the price down.

Go to your nearest dealer or two, and try out several models. Then you can see what will fit your needs. I am a janome fan but there are many other options out there. Besides a dealer can help you if you have a problem with a machine. Good Luck

Make a list of features you want.
For me its having the foot raise slightly when I stop sewing in needle down mode. Great for applique.
Also a large throat area. Mine is a Viking Sapphire with a 10 in throat.
A drop in bobbin.
The only thing it dosnt have is a thread cutter.

I couldn't have said it any better. I purchased both of my Bernina by trying them out at quilt shows. GREAT discounts are made on the last day of the show. Find the machine that will work BEST for YOU !! Good Luck

I have been very happy with Janome. Go give them a test run.

Have you taken your current machine in for service? If not, I would try that before buying a new sewing machine.

Those are all decent choices. My daughter likes her Babylock better than her Janome. I'd chose the one with the biggest throat (distance from needle to pillar). I personally would not put any money in the WalMart Brother. Put it toward the new machine.

The symphony, I adored my espire when I had her and the symphony is the new version. It also has more features that the other models you mentioned. That would be my choice
