Holy Smokes! WOOL !?
#1
Went to a fave LQS (75 miles way) and they had some bolts of wool. It was fabulous.. then it happened.... I saw the price! REALLY?? 20.95 a yard???? Guess i won't be making a wool quilt anytime soon.
Why is it so much more expensive then other stuff? Is it from golden sheep?

I would just LOVE to make a bed size qult out of wool. I have one that i bought years ago at a flea market. Might take it with to Paducah to get appraise.

If it was smooth, thin wool for pants, then it would be worth it since those pants last for a long time. Soft, smooth wool for shirts might be worth that if it was a lovely color, but the rougher type, no, not over 10 bucks a yard, if that much. If it was washable, maybe 12 dollars a yard.

Just to let you know we have to pay $22 to $25 a metre here in Australia, the Aussie dollar is now on par with the US$ so it is cheaper for us to buy online from US shops. The ladies in the quilting club I attend are so happy at the moment at the fabric they are getting from US at a fraction of the price we would normally pay.

I have a friend in Australia and he said gas was 1.40 a litre today. Even if almost 2 litres is a gallon, I'd still take it. But boy your fabric is waaayyy expensive. So how much is wool there?
