Default Hoping for help with setting triangles.....

My block is 16 1/2” square. The 4 patches are 2 1/2” square. I used a chart online and cut the side triangles and corners.....but my “puzzle”is a mess! I originally was going to use a square in a square for the cornerstones. But I need help! I should have paid more attention in geometry class.......
Looking at this picture online now, maybe i just need to remove the little corner triangle and then those pieces will fit together, eliminating the need for a cornerstone? Argh.

It does look like if you removed the little white triangle the side and top border would fit together at a 45 mitered corner. When doing a pieced border, it is sometimes necessary to put a cheater matching white narrow birder between the block and border to get it to work out perfectly.

Or maybe i need to replace the larger triangle with another small triangle-i think that will give me straight ends so I can use a square cornerstone. Hmmmmm.....i will get back to it this evening....

I had that exact situation and added extra fabric on both sides of my pieced border. Worked beautifully.
