Hi to all of you lovelies,

could you please tell me about the average size of pillow cases or cushions (?) to put on a couch? I'd love to surprise my american friend but don't have a clue about how big I have to make them. I just wanna send the cover, not the "inside" of the pillow. In Germany, for the couch pillow, we usually make it 16" sq.

16 or 18 inches would be a normal couch pillow size. I assume you do not mean a bed pillow (smile). I usually make mine 18 inches square.

16" 18" or 20" is the common pillow inserts that are sold here!

We have all different sizes of pillows & pillowcases. The standard bed-size pillowcase is about 21 x 32". Some are a little shorter than that. A king size is around 21 x 42". Some may even be more than 21" wide to accommodate the big, puffy pillows. Throw pillows for the bed or couch come in all different size & shapes but the standard even # square sizes are much more easily found and can be easily cut down.
