If anyone lives on or near Long Island, you MUST GO TOMORROW! Grab a Newsday and look for the ad that says Quilters. It's in New Hyde Park. (I don't think I should post the address here) You can look in Newsday.com at the ads.

OK. What did I get. Once again I filled my car. I will be going back tomorrow to pick up some stuff. This is all top quality fabric of every conceivable type. It is the home of a quilter to the nth degree. The members of the quilt club were helping her husband who must get out of the house by Tuesday. I cannot even begin to describe the amazing fabric. Including lots of hand dyed fabrics, batiks, etc.

I got a ton of fabric, lots and lots of huge rulers and templates for 50 cents each! We bought an enormous cutting table complete with mat that folds up -- wood, real wood -- for $50. Tons of scissors - top shelf - several 50 yard bolts of heavy muslin and ... are you ready? The most beautiful 1929 Singer in an excellent cabinet - complete with walking foot, etc. etc. etc. It's in my trunk at the moment, but I'll be sure to post. $70

The husband was a doll. He knew so much about machines including the coveted featherweights which he said he would find all the time. The husbands of the wonderful quilting ladies were all there -- and they were so sweet.

The Berninas were a bit out of my price range, but still there.

The best part of it all is that I've found a new quilting club! It's a bit of a drive, but not bad. Hopefully I'll go there on Monday.

New Yorkers - GO GO GO!!!!

This was an odd one. The hours said 6-9 -- I was thinking gee they started early, but they only opened at 6 pm so we went out to my husband's favorite pizza shop.

I really wish I had brought a camera. You would all be drooling! This home put the best LQS to shame.
