How do I cut up an old cutting mat
I have read many suggestions on up cycling an old cutting mat. What do you use to cut it up? I've tried scissors and they are not making a dent. I'd really like to end up with a straight smooth edge.
Thanks!
Thanks!

What about something like tin snips?

Now I'm not saying they will work but it's the first thing that came to my mind.

You could clamp the board between a metal straight edge and a piece of scrap wood and use an exacto knife to cut along the metal edge several times. A Dremel drill set might have a tool that would work.

i cut mine with scissors no problem. try again whit sharp one. i cut it into useable mats for class or friends houses. while you're at it, cut it into a lazy susan size for a cheap Brooklyn Revolver. I heard they are about $25 now.

I cut one up with a pair of Fiskars Kitchen Shears, no problem with straight edges if you cut on the lines. No lines where you want to cut?, then draw lines with a sharpie. I've been using these Fiskars for more than 12 years and they have never let me down.
