    Hi there...
I am putting together this bag and in the instructions it says I should sew this pocket on the front side of the bag. Do I just sew it on with a 1/4 inch seam or am I supposed to sew it on some other way....not really sure.. Picture is below....hope you can see the pockets, right now I just have it pinned on.

    pocket is green....

It's kind of a small pocket. I would just sew right along the edge on 2 sides.

I thought it was small too.....I guess I will sew as close to the edge as possible.

It does look a little small for the size of the bag..make a bigger one if you have fabric...and of course turn under the fabric, press and sew...or you can sew 2 pieces for the pocket right sides together on 3 sides..do not sew top side, turn right side out...turn in top, press, topstitch top and sew on 3 sides...I like to reinforce my pockets at the corners...

That's what I would do, topstitch it as close as possible to the edge, or maybe make a larger pocket and topstitch that.

After you sew that small pocket on - you could sew a larger pocket over it. The small pocket could be for a cell phone or keys.
It doesn't look like it would hold much more than a stamp.

I would use my zipper foot & sew the 3 sides. Beautiful bag. If you want a larger pocket stitch the small one on top of a larger pocket then top stitch the larger one to the bag.

I would just stitch it on, as others have already said. top stitch close to the edge on the sides and bottom.

It does look like a rather small pocket... remember, you can always make it a bigger pocket... do what looks and feels right to you.
