Another way to get out oil or grease is hand cleaner like the mechanics use. I have done this for years as my DH is a home mechanic.

I always use the regular blue Dawn. Son works on engines at work, so I wash his clothes in Dawn.

I spray with Awesome and machine wash (delicate) with my regular detergent. It works for me. I learned about Awesome on this board, I've learned so much here.

What part of the store do you find AWESOME? Like by soaps? I have some items that could use that product if it works like you say.
Thanks.

I don't know what you will end up using -

but one can hand wash - gently - a block that is unfinished.

Put the item in a dishpan, large kettle, or basin - add water and whatever cleaning compound you are using - soak and swish -

Drain or dump the water - rinse using the soak and swish method until the water is clear - roll in a towel to absorb excess moisture and air dry .

The important thing is to minimize agitation which will cause fraying.

I use either Dawn dish soap (the blue one) or Awesome from the $1.00 store. They both work great. Awesome is great for spring cleaning also. Works great for washing walls. Just spray on & wipe off. Also works great on your range, bathtub etc.

You can get Totally Awesome at the dollar store. Just check on the wall with all the cleaning/laundry supplies.
