I have bought a beautifull panel it is a Fairy looking into a Lilly, (mint green and white) around 44 x 24 inches, how will I quilt this? I thought of making it into a wall hanging, maybe hand stitching outline of fairy and flower with batting on the back to give a "quilted look"and then adding a border.

What do all you experts think? :?:

I quilted a panel. Hand quilted. I stitched around the birds and leaves, stems and fruit. I turned aout really cute and used it as a wall hanging. I hand quilted around the lines around the picture http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-65182-1.htm go to this and you will see 2 others I did.

Love the birds panel, my panel is very delicate maybe for a girls room but me thinks it will be for a big girls room, mine.

Thankyou for your advice what sort of batting would I use for maximum "quilted" effect please? :D

Thankyou, they are very spoilt, their names are Rose and Celeste.

I had put a sheepskin rug on the chair while I was vacuuming Celeste thought it was an invitation to jump on the chair, Rose is looking on knowing Celeste should not be there, our leather chairs are out of bounds.

I JUST STARTED QUILTING PANELS AND FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. I MACHINE QUILT AROUND THE FIGURES AND THEN DO FREE MOTION QUILTING IN BETWEEN THE FIGURES. GIVES THE MAIN SUBJECTS A 3-D LOOK. HAVE DONE EAGLES, SEAGULLS, BEAR AND NOW AM WORKING ON THE LAST SUPPER FOR MY DAUGHTER'S NEW DINING ROOM. FIND IT TO BE A GREAT STRESS RELIEVER. I USE TRANSPARENT THREAD ON THE TOP.

If the fairy and lily are big, what about outline quilt, then just something squigley.
