    I made a pinwheel quilt from recycled mens shirts that I got at Salvation Army. I just cut right next to the seams and still had a good amount of fabric.

    That is what I do...so much easier to do than trying to unsew seams...especially if they are serged seams...you will still get lots of fabric.

    If you are looking for wool fabric...if you can find skirts, you get a lot of fabric this way...and also wool shirts...I usually shrink it first, then cut apart.
